What Lipedema Central is
Lipedema Central is an independent directory of lipedema surgery practices, certified lymphedema therapists and the cost and insurance information those practices publish or report. The information is collected from the practices themselves and from their own published material.
Listings are free and verification is never charged for. Vetting and verification cannot be bought, and anything a practice pays for is labeled.

How the data is collected
Every listed practice begins with a review of its own public website. The fields no website publishes are then requested directly from the practice, by telephone and by a written form: whether self-pay is accepted, the practice's insurance posture, how far out it is booking, and who performs the surgery.
Every listing shows the source of each fact and the date it was confirmed. Verified, practice-reported and unverified listings are labelled separately and are never mixed together. Where a fact cannot be confirmed, the field is left at N/A rather than filled with an assumption.
Nothing is sold to practices, insurers or anyone else, and no patient information is collected on a practice listing.
